We believe that it's important to acknowledge that in the house sitting relationship the owners are affording the sitters the unique privilege of staying in the owners' home and looking after the owners' animals, and that in turn the sitters owe the owners the highest degree of care - both in looking after the owners' home and caring for the owners' treasured pets. We are a retired American couple in our 60's who are house sitting full time while spending a couple of years traveling through the United States and Canada. We are very experienced house sitters and travelers with decades of experience looking after our own dogs and cats, and considerable experience volunteering with organizations which care for animals. We fully understand a family's emotional connection to their home, and the need to be responsible, considerate, and respectful when entrusted with something so personal as the care of another family's home and pets.

We are fastidious and tidy, and are best suited to caring for a well-maintained home. We work best with owners who are particular and specific about how they want their home managed and maintained, and how they want their animals cared for. We're comfortable establishing and living by a routine that is consistent with the needs of the owners' pets.

Neither one of us smokes, and while Kim will have an occasional glass of wine with dinner, Jack does not drink at all.

We're mature, considerate, responsible, respectful, and reliable. Among our strengths are our ability to listen well and to carry out homeowners' instructions while applying common sense. In our several references, homeowners always praise our daily written reports to them.

For decades, we have owned and cared for our own rescued dogs and cats, and Kim has extensive experience as a volunteer at the Humane Society and at Canine Assistants.

Kim and Jack were absolutely wonderful! Well before the scheduled housesit we got to know each other in a zoom call, and we knew they would be great. They arrived in plenty of time for us to give them a thorough rundown on our home and to introduce them to our beloved little Katie. While we were away we received regular reports. Their communications were a delight to read, as they so amusingly recounted the details of daily life at our house. We can honestly say that they left our house ... First, we have nothing but kudos for Kim and Jack for the care of our pets. It is obvious to us that they not only took care of them, their schedules and their needs, but they also genuinely loved them. In this regard, they kept us well informed on our pet's health, habits, and happiness. WOW - Kim and Jack were awesome! In addition to sending me updates of Juno as she slept, walked and hung around the house, they left the house in exactly the same condition as when we left (and that's saying a lot as I'm a bit picky and our housekeeper had just been there). I hope they will be back!

I cannot begin to say how fantastic Kim was while we left the country for vacation this July in watching our 3 year old cat Bob. Bob has some separation anxiety when we are not home so Kim was the perfect fit as she was able to spend a lot of time with him. When we came home he was the happiest we have seen returning from a longer trip. We are truly grateful we were able to find Kim as she made our vacation the most relaxing vacation we have had so far because we knew our Bob was being taken ... We were very fortunate to have Kim and Jack sit for us recently. It was a wonderful experience and we hope that our schedules will line up for them to come again in the future. First of all, they are really lovely and interesting people with a terrific sense of humor. I looked forward to their email updates with news on our two yellow labs and our indoor cat. Throughout our initial communications setting up the sit, they were communicative and responsive. Once we were traveling, they stayed ... Throughout our initial communications setting up the sit, they were communicative and responsive. Once we were traveling, they stayed in touch regularly, so that we always knew things were going well at home. As our cat is very shy, it took a while for her to make an appearance, but Kim and Jack kept us up to date on progress, so we knew she was eating and using her litter tray even though initial sightings of her were rare. The level of communication was perfect — not overwhelming, but enough for us to be assured that all was well. Above and beyond caring for the pets and the house, Kim and Jack helped us with an emergency — we left an important medication at home, but they jumped right in, found the medication, packaged it and took it to the Fed Ex office. It arrived safe and sound by the next available delivery. Kim and Jack also shopped for food for us on their last day here, as we were arriving home very late. It was lovely to come back to an immaculate house and to find the bed already made up with clean linens, so we didn't have anything to do after a long day of travel. I enjoyed our vacation all the more for knowing they were there, looking after our home and beloved pets. Any home and pet owner would be lucky to have Kim and Jack sit for them. I can whole heartedly recommend this lovely couple and hope they will be able to return to sit for us again in the future.
