If I reach out to you, then you can know that I am interested in the job as you posted it. Meaning that if you requested a free sitter, that’s exactly what you’ll get!

Hi! My name is Sam (or Sammi), short for Samantha. I’m 39
and love to travel, meet new people, and see new places. If animals are involved it’s that much better! About a year ago, I buried my husky of 14 1/2 years. The hole he left is one of the reasons I decided to give this site a try.

Over the course of my life I’ve had dogs, cats, rabbits, parakeets, parrots, fish, snakes, an iguana, and tarantulas. Because of my recent husky, I have a lot of experience with an older dog. Incontinence, ... Read more

Over the course of my life I’ve had dogs, cats, rabbits, parakeets, parrots, fish, snakes, an iguana, and tarantulas. Because of my recent husky, I have a lot of experience with an older dog. Incontinence, medications, arthritis, seizures, and more were a part of our daily lives before he passed. I also have some experience training both dogs and cats. I’ve rescued many animals from accidents, natural disasters, and horrible humans. I’ve done a lot of pet & house-sitting, but not through this site yet. While limited, I do have experience caring for chickens, cows, horses, and more recently sheep! If you have plants or a garden that need tending, I’m happy to do that as well.

I’m very reliable, easily follow written or verbal instruction, and have great attention to detail. I communicate very well and can have as much or as little interaction with owners as you’d like while you’re away. I’ve always kept a clean, organized house, and will treat your home and pets with great love and respect.

Since childhood I have been drawn to animals and they to me. If I have the opportunity to care for your loved ones, I will love them as if they were my own!

Samantha was everything we hoped for in a farm sitter! She kept us informed of any issues while we were away and she was proactive in heading off potential problems before they could bloom. She was super caring for all our pets and livestock and definitely bonded with the dogs, some of our sheep and even a chicken or two! I gave her a little instruction on how to use our tractor and she dragged our driveway after a storm partially washed it down the hill. We would love to have her back for ... Sam was outstanding from beginning to end. She was very communicative in advance of the house/pet sit and maintained good communication throughout. Sam arrived in advance of the sit and spent time getting know our dog, which was extremely valuable. It was very clear to us when we returned that our dog was extremely well cared for and had really bonded with Sam. This was the second time that Samantha has been our farm sitter and she was spectacular! One of the most important things we look for in a farm sitter is observation skills. A good farm sitter can tell when something is amiss and Samantha really scored in this area. One of our sheep got sick the day we left and she was able to nurse it back to health with minimal guidance from us. She also noticed a chicken with sour crop and let us know right away so we were able to treat it before it got ... One of our sheep got sick the day we left and she was able to nurse it back to health with minimal guidance from us. She also noticed a chicken with sour crop and let us know right away so we were able to treat it before it got any worse. Our dogs love her to pieces and the house was in great shape when we returned! It is just so easy to leave our farm and home in Samantha's care and we hope to have her back again.
