Our home

I live in a small 55 and over condo community of 35 units. People are welcoming and nice. Most are in their 60's to 80's. We have an outdoor heated pool and spa. My unit is a 2 BR, 1 B (with tub) on the second (top) floor with a balcony. The bed is a double size. The second bedroom is not available. Parking would be on the street. This is a safe neighborhood.

Los Gatos is a lovely city. There are several parks, and the center of town has a charming piazza, with restaurants and shops. San Francisco is an hour away by car. Living in our complex is very quiet and pleasant.

Our pets

My 1.5 year old cat, Inky, needs someone to love him while I'm gone. He is not a lap cat, but enjoys face and cheek petting (but on his terms!). He seems to have an automatic need to turn his head and bite, but that can be stopped but moving your hand. He spends a lot of time on my balcony. He also eats a lot of kibble, and some canned food. He does not sleep with me in the bedroom.

I am a retired biologist who does genealogy research now. I have lots of friends and am an active person. No hiking, however! And of course I love animals. I speak Italian.

Important info

Twice a week I feed a small colony of feral cats, 10 minutes away. This person would need to take my place. All food would be provided, and the same for my own cat. Also, the woman who lives below me on the first floor is a nurse and works from 3 to 11 pm, so I am careful not to vacuum before noon.
