Hi there!

Since I started house/pet-sitting on this site in 2019 I've completed 54 weeks of sits total, which includes repeat house sits with homeowners I've established relationships with. I have also done house + pet sitting through Rover (I can send a link to my Rover profile upon request). Rover requires all pet sitters to pass a background check (we wouldn't actually communicate/work through Rover, but it's an extra reassurance for homeowners who are interested in having me as a house ... Hi there!

Since I started house/pet-sitting on this site in 2019 I've completed 54 weeks of sits total, which includes repeat house sits with homeowners I've established relationships with. I have also done house + pet sitting through Rover (I can send a link to my Rover profile upon request). Rover requires all pet sitters to pass a background check (we wouldn't actually communicate/work through Rover, but it's an extra reassurance for homeowners who are interested in having me as a house sitter).

I have my own vehicle, and I've done several long road trips to house sits across the country, but I am also open to flying to a sit if the location has good walking/biking infrastructure and public transportation. The use of another's car or bike is incentive for me to do house sits that are very far away because I can simply fly to the destination instead of drive.

I've done numerous work-exchange trips throughout the US, and within those trips I've done some house-sitting and pet-sitting. I do both free and paid house sits (case-to-case basis).

During my house-sits I've cared for dogs (anxious rescues, purebreds, elderly), cats (indoor, outdoor, feral, special needs), laying hens, rabbits, and reptiles. Since starting house-sitting, I've cared for a total of 19 cats and 12 dogs.

In terms of work-exchange experience, I have helped with: gardening, fencing (wire, electric), harvesting crops, chimney sweeping, house-sitting, pet-sitting, farm animal care, spreading seed, cooking, construction, demolition, landscaping, and organizing.

I live fairly minimally, and I really value a quiet environment, cleanliness, and honesty.

I enjoy writing, creating YouTube content, meditating, and playing/recording music. All these pursuits tend to keep me busy by myself throughout the week. Currently I am taking time off full-time work to travel and do some freelance content creation. Since I use the internet for work, it's very important that I have a reliable internet connection at the house sits I do.

I've lived on 3 continents (North America, Europe, South America) and I've visited another (Africa).

Non-smoker, no pets.

If you'd like a link to my website to learn more about me, just let me know and I'll be happy to send it over.

Colin was one of the best pet sitters I have had. I was delighted that he took such great care of my cat and my home. I came home to a perfectly clean house and an aloof cat. Usually he's really happy to see me. This time he was like who are you??? I think the cat was just maybe a good match for Colin and he(cat) forgot who I was. And I was gone a long time,or maybe that's just typical cat behavior... Colin inspired my trust from his through approach to pet and house care and his above ... I feel grateful and lucky to have had Colin take care of my cat and home.

Colin did an absolutely amazing job from the start! Always quick to communicate and was very thorough in making sure he was clear on what was needed at the house. This was my first time leaving my dog long term so I was so relieved to know that he was in great hands. I got lots of updates throughout his stay showing that my pup was happy and living his best life. Came home to a spotless house with everything as it was before I left. Colin was a 5***** sitter for our big brown dog. He took fine care of the house and our big yard; he took the BD out for a walk everyday and he was very accommodating if we needed him to do something for us. He was neat and quiet when he was staying with us before and after our trip. I would definitely ask Colin to sit for us again.

We had the pleasure of having Colin house sit for us for 7 weeks this summer. From the first conversation we had with him on Zoom, we knew we would be leaving our home in very good hands. From the first conversation we had with him on Zoom, we knew we would be leaving our home in very good hands. Colin is mature, dependable, trustworthy, and an articulate communicator. We don't have pets, so the main responsibility we were seeking from our house sitter was to maintain our outside landscaping and indoor house plants (primarily watering). Colin cared for them beautifully! The lawn, flowers, and plants outdoors as well as the house plants all thrived under his watch. We had such peace of mind knowing that Colin was tending to our house while we were away. He checked in with us frequently to let us know that everything was fine. He supplemented the instructions we gave him on how to care for our property with notes of his own which showed how conscientious he was about his responsibilities. We came home to a tidy, well-maintained home and we couldn't have been more pleased. We highly recommend Colin for anyone seeking a reliable house sitter. We will not hesitate to ask him to house sit for us again when we travel in the future.

Colin was a wonderful house-sitter for us when we were out of the country. He took excellent care of both the house and the cats, and left the place looking great. He was an excellent communicator - before, during, and after the house sit. He was very organized, with a list of questions to help him succeed. And he sent us a fantastic "post-sit" message about how the cats warmed up to him and interacted with him. I would not hesitate to recommend Colin for your house-sitting needs.

Colin housesat for us for a month, and he couldn't have been better! He tended to the needs of our animals (rabbits, chickens, and a cat) with extreme care and attention, and also helped us with watering the garden and houseplants and treating our small swimming pool so it stayed fresh and clean. He is kind, gracious, and easy-going, and could not be more clean, quiet, and conscientious as a housesitter. He readily communicated with us about anything that came up, and was always quick to ... Colin was the perfect housesitter. Attentive, communicative and kind. Our dogs can be nervous with new people and he knew how to give them space until they warmed up, which they did quickly! Highly recommend.

Colin is a great house sitter. He took the initiative to arrive a few days early to assimilate in to the routine of the pet care. We had some meals together, which gave us the opportunity to get acquainted and discuss the house and community. We left for our trip knowing our home and pets were in good hands. And when we arrived home our pets were all smiling. Thanks Colin for the great job!
