Our home

We are planning road trip to a family wedding in August. Dates may change but will only be one day either way, depending on our final flight schedule. Our departure and return dates are flexible but we are planning to be gone for about 3 to weeks. We need a house and pet sitter to take care of our house, plants (outdoor), dog and cats.

We have a dog and four indoor cats. The inside cats all expect the cat pans to be emptied daily. The cats are very different in personality. One, Highway, is very independent but will be friendly. He is an aloof, orange love-bug. The second, Mr. Spock, is about 5 years old. He too is a major love-bug. and loves to play with the cat toys and paperballs. The third, Ensign Chekov, is a big black and white baby. He loves to get on shoulders to ride and receive treats. Last is Lt. Uhura, an American shorthair tabby. She was a feral kitten that was brought to our backyard by a black feral cat that we called Franks. Franks is no longer with us. The indoor cats have a two continuous bowls of food and they enjoy treats which are in the kitchen.

Our house is located almost equidistant from the Museum District, The Galleria, one of the USA's outstanding top end shopping malls and NRG Stadium, home of the Houston Texans. We are also less than a half hour from the downtown theater district, Convention Center, Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets, Daikin Park, home of the Houston Astros, and PNC Stadium, home of the Houston Dynamo and DASH.

We are also about a half hour from the downtown theater district, George Brown Convention Center, Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets, Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros and BBVA Compass Stadium, home of the Houston Dynamo and DASH our soccer teams.

Many other attractions are nearby including The Houston Space Center (NASA), Galveston, and Kemah Boardwalk. There are numerous Texas State Parks well suited for days trips including Brazos Bend State Park, one of our favorites, Galveston State Park, Sam Houston State Park and too many more to list.

Our neighborhood is quiet and also centrally located to shopping, entertainment and five minutes from the world renown Texas Medical Center.

We have one dog and four indoor cats. Wednesday is the pup and the cats are Highway, Mr. Spock, Ensign Chekov, and Lt. Uhura.

The cats require their litter boxes to be cleaned daily. They have two bowls of food that have to be replenished as needed as well as two water bowls that need to be refilled daily. The water bowls also will need to be washed occasionally.

Wednesday has food and water bowls in the kitchen that need to replenished daily. Her bowls also need to be cleaned periodically. We put all the bowls in the dishwasher at one time to clean them. Wednesday likes walks around the neighborhood.

Minimal - The outdoor flowers and plants are mostly in flower pots. In the summer they need to be watered every other day. Henry is our yard guy. He does the yard every thursday. He has his own gate opener to make it easier for him and you.

We are a mature couple that has lived here for 31 years. We have seen many changes in the neighborhood and Houston. We enjoy reading, live theater, music, movies, and live music.

Pat & Ann was the absolute best in the way they made me feel at home. They are some of the wonderful people to be around and they showed me so much kindness. Ann looked out for me and made sure that I was more than comfortable. Pat gave me the right websites to visit to find out all that was going on in the city. I have made life time friends indeed. Staying at their home I felt safe and at peace. I so enjoyed sitting down and have dinner with them and the food was deliciously prepared by Ann. ... MorePat & Ann was the absolute best in the way they made me feel at home. They are some of the wonderful people to be around and they showed me so much kindness. Ann looked out for me and made sure that I was more than comfortable. Pat gave me the right websites to visit to find out all that was going on in the city. I have made life time friends indeed. I loved Pi, Torpedo, Velcro and Highway oh and the fishes too! :). They all have their own unique personalities but wonderful pets to look after. I would love to sit for them again if time allows.

What wonderful people these two are! They welcomed me into their home and made me feel part of their family. Their home is beautiful, warm and welcoming and their fur babies are absolutely precious! I would have taken them all with me if I could have fit them in my suitcase. I had a unfortunate situation come up in my life during that time and they were so incredibly understanding and kind and helped me through it. Pat and Ann were delightful. They gave clear instructions on how to care for their 'furry children' and they were very accommodating when I needed to stay for a couple of nights after their return. Their home is very clean and I was comfortable and enjoyed the company of their well behaved pets. I recommend them as a house sit and I am happy to say I will be sitting for them again.

Pat & Ann are great people, don't think so, just ask their cats. These are wonderful people who opened their home to me as an escape and a time to write. The cats sound like they were a problem to sit, but not one bit. They were playful, lovable, and yes a bit qwerky, but, are we not all a bit? They interviewed me and agreed with the cats I would work. The time there was nice and although I didn't get much work done, I did get some well needed and deserved rest. Their home is lovely and ...
