My husband and I are world travellers and experienced house sitters. We are an active, retired but energetic couple. For example, when we were in our 50's/60's, we bicycled across the U.S. from S.F. to Boston. Being on a long distance bike trip, you have to be organized and tidy to pack up efficiently and leave the campsites as found. We will do the same for your home. My husband and I are world travellers and experienced house sitters. We are an active, retired but energetic couple. For example, when we were in our 50's/60's, we bicycled across the U.S. from S.F. to Boston. Being on a long distance bike trip, you have to be organized and tidy to pack up efficiently and leave the campsites as found. We will do the same for your home. You can leave worry-free with us in your house.

We both love cats and dogs. We have had them as personal pets in the past. We will walk, fed and medicate as directed.

So far, we have done 46 housesit duties for our friends and House Sitters America, which included cats, dogs, chickens and hummingbirds:

two in Australia (90 days to 7 weeks)
Two in New Zealand (1 week)
Thirty-eight in California ( 4 days to 5 weeks)
Two in Oregon (3 days - 4 weeks)
Washington (3 weeks)
New Mexico (4 weeks)


We enjoy traveling to new cities. Having lived and worked abroad, we are adaptable, flexible and friendly.

We are non-smokers, no drugs.

I have a background in emergency room nursing.

We are Covid negative, fully vaccinated, including 3 booster shots.

References available on request and F.B.I. background check cleared. I am only mentioning the F.B.I. checks because we had to get them anyway for a travel visa.

Barb and Mac are dependable, trustworthy, and nice house sitters. They took good care of our cat the 17 days we were away and left our house in excellent condition. Barb responded promptly to my texts and kept our vegetable garden alive by extra watering during a heat wave. You'll be fortunate if they're able to sit for you! Thank you Barb and Mac.
Barbara and Mac were fantastic. My dog had some medical and feeding issues and they were able to resolve them with their own ingenuity. The house was also all cleaned as if no one were there. We were there for overlapping periods and even then Barbara wanted to walk my dog instead of me...SMILE......it was great getting to know them and I wouldnt hesitate having them back if the opportunity presents itself.

Barbara and Mac are amazing house sitters far exceeding my expectations. They are friendly, thoughtful and willing to help out with yard tasks while we were gone. Most of all, they loved my dog and sent me pictures of him throughout our trip. Barbara walked Andy three times a day, brushed him, and even gave him a bath. As soon as she entered our house, she went right to Andy and engaged him in play with kind words and praise. I could tell Andy was in excellent hands. They mowed the grass ... Barbara & Mac are the perfect house sitters. Barbara sent updates on my garden & kitty several times during their stay and even jumped into the breach when our taxi to the airport failed to show. Bravely, Barbara rode shotgun as my frantic husband drove us in my little Mini, then she successfully drove back alone to our home! I would choose them again in a heartbeat.
We feel so lucky to have had Barbara and Mac housesit for us while we were away for two weeks. We enjoyed our vacation knowing that our home was being taken care of -- even during a storm that damaged our backyard -- and our pets were secure and happy. Our dog got 2 walks/day, as we asked, and our 2 kitties were loved and pampered. We received pictures and steady communication throughout our entire trip. Barb and Mac were fantastic house sitters! The house was clean and tidy upon our return, fresh sheets on the bed and all linens washed. Most importantly, they took excellent care of our kitty Bijou--he really missed them when they left! Additionally, they really went above and beyond on three separate occasions. In the three weeks we were gone they had to deal with "cheeky" squirrels digging up our tulip bulbs, a garbage can destroyed by the garbage pickup truck, and a slow leak under the ... We're happy that you're happy. That's all that counts.
Barbara and Mac are friendly, experienced, conscientious, and dependable house sitters. They cared for our home and pets as if they were her own. We returned to a spotless house including a washed and re-made bed and squeaky clean floors (I mentioned that I hadn't gotten around to mopping prior to our departure and this was a lovely surprise). I highly recommend and would be delighted to have them stay again in the future.

Barbara and Mac are excellent house/pet sitters. Our cats were well taken care of and the house looked great. Barbara is a great communicator, and very responsive to all communication. This is the second house sit they did for us, and we would love to have them again when the occasion arises.

The garden was in better shape when we returned than when we were at home. We expect sitters to follow basic instructions but they go above beyond like organizing our large pantry cabinet in the garage so it is now easy to find things. Definitely jump at the chance to have Barbara and Mac sit your home. They were kind and comfortable to be around, pleasant to visit with, and took perfect care of our kitten and home. Excellent house sitters, we are staying in touch and hopefully will be lucky enough to have them back again.

We just got home from our trip today and found our two mini poodles are healthy and happy! Barbara and Mac did a great job take care of them and our puppies became very attached to them. During our trip, Barbara sent us updates every day with a group of cute photos. They take them for walks and play their favorite games. Barbara even help deadheading the flowers in our garden and our house is clean as well. We are very happy with their service and appreciate their love and care for our two fur ... Barbara and Mac were fantastic. They were great communicators while organizing the house sit and made us feel comfortable from the start. The house and our garden was well looked after and very clean when we came back. I can definitively recommend them without any hesitation.

Barbara and Mac were fantastic house sitters. We came back home to house that was cleaner than we left it with a bed ready for sleep. The plants and our kitty Lulu were well taken care of.
