We enjoy experiencing new places, and we are happy to take care of people's animals & homes as part of our travels. We also find satisfaction in facilitating other people's travel by giving them the security of knowing that their homes & animals are well taken care of during their travels.

We are reliable, conscientious, tidy, and industrious, and we will take care of people's animals, homes, and properties as if they were our own.

ANIMAL CARE EXPERIENCE: In addition to caring for people's animals as part of our housesitting assignments, we have many decades of experience caring for our own cats, dogs, and horses. We have also been fostering kittens (and occasionally a dog or adult cat) for our local animal shelter almost continuously for the past 3 years.

ANIMAL CARE EXPERIENCE: In addition to caring for people's animals as part of our housesitting assignments, we have many decades of experience caring for our own cats, dogs, and horses. We have also been fostering kittens (and occasionally a dog or adult cat) for our local animal shelter almost continuously for the past 3 years.

LOVE OF ANIMALS: We love the company of animals and the warm and exuberant energy they add to daily life. We have had cats for most of our lives (and dogs and horses at times as well). Dawn grew up "across the pasture" from her grandparent's farm, where she spent a lot of time throughout her childhood around cows, horses, sheep, chickens, dogs, and cats.

We fully appreciate how important animals are to their people, and we will care for all animals with love, attention, and patience. We have had ill and aging cats of our own, and we have fostered over 150 kittens, a few adult cats, and a dog (many with various medical needs) over the past 3 years.

HOME CARE EXPERIENCE: We are homeowners ourselves and thus are quite experienced in house, lawn, and garden care & maintenance. We enjoy gardening and can keep a lawn and plants healthy and thriving in the homeowner's absence.

PERSONAL: We are active and fit and enjoy exploring new places, walking, hiking, biking, surfing, and gardening, as well as reading, writing, playing the piano, and watercolor painting. We are non-smokers, are fully Covid vaccinated and boosted, and have stellar driving records.

We will complete our first housesit through HouseSittersAmerica, a one-month sit in the Midwest, this spring.

We also have many decades of experience caring for our own cats, dogs, and horses. In addition, we have been fostering kittens (and occasionally a dog or adult cat) for our local animal shelter for the past 3 years.

Two sits completed through personal connections include two periods, each about two months long, in which I housesat a small horse ranch in Washington state, caring for the house and property as well as three horses, two dogs, and a barn cat while the homeowner was living oversees. A letter of reference can be provided at your request.

Dawn and Harold were outstanding housesitters whom I’d recommend to anyone. Their stellar communication started before they even arrived, asking thoughtful questions in preparation and clearly informing us about their travel plans. While away, they sent frequent updates with pictures of our cat, helping us feel confident that all was being handled well. We returns to our (many) plants thriving and our home clean and ready for our easy transition back. We were gone for our wedding and honeymoon, ...
