Our home

Our home is in the coastal community of Aptos in Santa Cruz, CA. We are looking for care of our German Shepherd/Husky (Bixby) while traveling. We are remote workers so Bixby is used to having. us around. As a result, we are looking for someone/couple that can also work remotely or be around consistently so he is not alone for hours on a daily basis. As a result, we are looking for someone/couple that can also work remotely or be around consistently so he is not alone for hours on a daily basis. He is a very chill dog, but loves dog play and going on walks. We are located near the beach and at the entrance to a state park so there are a lot of activities in the direct area to explore. There is some light watering for indoor and outdoor plants that we would love tended to while we are gone, We also have an endless pool and hot tub that is available for use and would require adding easy/periodic chemicals based on use. Bixby is a large shepherd/husky mix. He is used to having someone around most of the time. He likes to play with other dogs and we accomplish this by inviting friends over or going to a public dog park. He can run short distances but will walk as far as you want. He gets fed twice a day and is easy to take care of as long as you are comfortable with a dog weighing around 100 pounds.

We are a semi retired couple who have both left their "career" jobs and are now doing other work but also trying to play more. We take pride in our home which we have developed into a lovely place.

We recently returned to Aptos for another relaxing housesit at their beautiful home. It is the perfect place to unwind, and they've even upgraded their outdoor space with a new firepit and sitting area since our last visit! Bixby is as easy going as ever, making our stay truly enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Wonderful experience! David and Danielle were so welcoming and their home is beautiful. Bixby is a big sweetheart and they provided very complete details on caring for him and the house. The area is very outdoor oriented which was a plus as well. Would love to stay again in the future with this sweet pup!

We fell in love with Aptos! Such a quaint beachside community with beautiful beaches, and Bixby... what a gem! This super chill dog loved walks and thrives on company (which we quickly became his people!). His sweet temperament made him a joy to get to know. Thanks to Danielle and David for everything! Their clear communication made house-sitting a breeze, the house was perfect, and the pool/spa access was a wonderful bonus. We felt right at home and hope to house-sit again soon!
