Our home

Our pueblo-style, single-level home faces the Sandia Mountains. Houses in our quiet, foothills neighborhood are relatively widely spaced and the streets are narrow and winding. You can watch the clouds roll by, the birds (song birds, quail, roadrunners, hawks) come to feed and drink, and you might spot a bobcat or coyote. Access to the 10,000 foot Sandia Mountains is by a short walk (1 mile) up the nearby drainage (arroyo) into the National Forest.

Chamma, our rescue American Bully loves people, kids, retrieving her ball, and car rides. On her daily walks, she can be reactive when meeting another dog, so we look ahead and keep our distance. We prefer someone who works from home or is retired so that they are home for most of the day. We also have a 22 year old gold fish who loves fish flakes and peas.

Minimal - We live in the high elevation, arid desert so the low to moderate number of plants in the yard need watering--mostly hand watering, some sprinklers every other day.

We have lived in our foothills house for 20 years, recently retired from the University of New Mexico, love hiking, exploring new places, and appreciating the wonders of our natural world.

Important info

We prefer no meat cooked in the house, but have a grill available in back yard for that. We ask house sitters to not bring fragrances (personal perfumes, detergents, cleansers, candles) into the house.
